When legislation threatened electric cooperatives and rural communities in 2025, BEC members stepped up.
200+ members contacted lawmakers through letters and messages expressing concern about the potential impact.
Because of that strong member response,
House Bill 3448 was ultimately withdrawn from consideration.

We’re actively monitoring legislative and regulatory issues affecting electric cooperatives and rural Texas. When member action is needed, BEACON members will receive an email and the Action Center will be updated with information and opportunities to participate.
